Tex Barry’s hopes to re-open ‘in the next few weeks’

Have you been missing Tex Barry’s?

The beloved eatery at 15 Main St., Taunton, known for its hot dogs, has been closed while it undergoes a remodel.

There’s good news though!

In an update posted to their Facebook page on June 21, Tex Barry’s announced that they are “75% done with renovations.”

“All new equipment is on site and being installed,” they wrote in the post.

They said that they hope to have a reopening date “in the next few weeks.”

Celebrate National Ice Cream Day at Friendly’s

In honor of its 89th birthday, as well as National Ice Cream Day, Friendly’s will be offering 89-cent single-scoop cones from July 17 to 21, at all locations.

Also throughout July, new Fan Club app members will receive $2 Fribbles.

Summer co*cktails at La Familia

Check out the summer cocktail menu at La Familia, 431 Winthrop St., Taunton.

They’ve got coconut guava margaritas, strawberry lemon drops, and peach mango sangria.

Or, try their Malibu Sunrise, with Malibu, cranberry juice, orange juice, and a splash of ginger ale.

There’s also the bee’s knees: with honey-infused gin, honey simple syrup, and lemon juice; and sweet heat, with peach vodka, mango nectar, muddled jalapeños, lime juice, and a splash of agave nectar.

4th of July sprinkles at Frates Drive-In

Frates Drive-In, 1423 Somerset Ave., Taunton, is shifting into 4th of July mode.

To celebrate the 4th, they’ve got red, white, and blue sprinkles for your ice cream orders.

Flavors of the month at Tom & Jimmy’s

Tom & Jimmy’s, 337 Winthrop St., Taunton, is spotlighting their flavors of the month.

This month, try their Sno-Cap, and Maine Blueberry ice creams.

They also have locations at 109 W. Grove St., Middleboro; and 235 N. Main St., W. Bridgewater.

Dairy-free cookies and cream at Frankie & Dia’s Ice Cream and Hot Cocoa

If you’re searching for some dairy-free indulgence, you can check out Frankie & Dia’s Ice Cream and Hot Cocoa, 407 New State Hwy., Raynham.

They’ve got dairy-free cookies and cream ice cream on the menu.

Pick up 4th of July treats at Italian Gem Café

There’s still time to place an order for some 4th of July treats at Italian Gem Café, 19 Center St., Middleboro.

Whether you’re looking for some dessert to please a crowd, or just want something special to enjoy for yourself at home, they’ve got lots to choose from.

There are chocolate chip cookie trays, whoopie pies, tiramisu trays, summer berry cake, crostate trays, and lasagna trays.

The deadline to place a pre-order is June 28.

Pick-ups will be on July 3, from 8 a.m. to noon.

Find 'hidden pizza', get a prize at Fat Cousins

You can win a $25 gift card, by finding the "hidden pizza" at Fat Cousins.

They have two hidden pizza certificates, one in Norton (288 E. Main St.) and one in Lakeville (166 County St.).

Fat Cousins is posting clues until both are found, and the clues apply for both locations.

If you find one, you can send Fat Cousins a direct message on Facebook or Instagram.

Once found, turn the certificate into the nearest Fat Cousins location to claim a $25 Fat Cousins gift card and a Fat Cousins merch item of your choice.

You’ll be looking for a certificate that says “Congrats! You found the hidden pizza.”

Prizes must be claimed on or before July 7. The card must be presented in person at the store, to the cashier. Merchandise is limited to what the store has in stock.
